As the game is less about endurance and more about skill and precision, the garden game is suitable for young and old alike. The object of the game is to shoot your own ball through all the targets with as few strokes as possible from the tee to the target. The ball may only be hit with the bat from the swing, pushing or steering is prohibited.

The playing field must be a large, flat surface. The 6 targets must be placed in any order on this surface. Mark the point where the players start with the starting stick. Each player has one turn per round. Only the player's own ball may be hit with the face of the bat. The opposite side must not be used. Touching another player's ball counts as a miss. The game is over when the first player touches the target stick after passing all the targets.
